The Qur'an deserves to be recited with care and attention. But learning to recite it correctly takes more than simply reading the words. We need to learn how the letters are pronounced, how they sound when they come together, and how the rules of recitation are applied.
At AL AMANAH PROJECT, our Tajweed course helps students improve their Qur'an recitation through guided lessons, regular practice, and correction from a teacher.
Whether you already read the Qur'an and want to improve your recitation or wish to strengthen your understanding of Tajweed rules, this course will help you work towards more accurate and confident recitation.
01Correct Pronunciation of Arabic Letters
Some Arabic letters sound similar, but their pronunciation is different. You will learn to recognise these differences and practise pronouncing the letters correctly so that you can avoid common mistakes while reciting the Qur'an.
02Makharij — The Points of Articulation
Learn where Arabic letters originate in the mouth and throat and how to pronounce them properly. With practice and teacher guidance, you can work on correcting your pronunciation and developing better recitation habits.
03The Essential Rules of Tajweed
You will gradually learn the important rules of Tajweed and how to apply them while reading the Qur'an. Rather than simply memorising rules, the aim is to understand them and practise them during actual recitation.
04Noon Saakinah and Tanween
Learn the rules of Izhar, Idgham, Iqlab, and Ikhfa, and understand how they affect the pronunciation of Noon Saakinah and Tanween in different situations.
05Meem Saakinah
Understand the rules of Meem Saakinah and practise applying them correctly when reading Qur'anic words and verses.
06Madd — Rules of Elongation
Learn when sounds need to be lengthened during recitation and understand the different types of Madd covered in your lessons. Guided practice will help you work towards applying the appropriate lengths more accurately.
07Qalqalah and Other Important Rules
Learn how to apply Qalqalah and other essential Tajweed rules that affect the way certain letters are pronounced. You will practise these rules in context rather than learning them only in theory.
08Practical Qur'an Recitation
Tajweed becomes meaningful when you apply what you have learned. During the course, you will practise reciting Qur'anic passages, receive feedback from your teacher, and work on correcting mistakes as you progress. The aim is to help you become more aware of your recitation and apply the rules with greater accuracy.
Who Can Join This Course?
Our Tajweed course is suitable for students who can already read the Qur'an but want to improve the correctness of their recitation.
You may benefit from this course if you:

- Want to correct mistakes you have developed over time.
- Know some Tajweed rules but find it difficult to apply them while reciting.

How Will the Classes Help You?
Learning Tajweed requires listening, practice, and correction. Reading the rules alone is not always enough; you also need to hear how they are applied and practise them yourself.
Our teachers guide students through the lessons, listen to their recitation, point out mistakes, and help them understand how to correct them. Regular revision allows students to revisit difficult rules and practise until they become more familiar.
Every student progresses differently. Some rules may be easy to understand, while others need more time and repetition. We encourage students to focus on learning correctly rather than rushing through the lessons.
What Can You Expect to Improve?
With regular attendance, practice, and teacher guidance, you can work towards:
- Pronouncing Arabic letters more accurately.
- Understanding the main Tajweed rules covered in the course.
- Recognising common recitation mistakes.
- Applying Tajweed rules while reading the Qur'an.
- Improving fluency and consistency in recitation.
- Developing greater confidence in your Qur'an reading.
Progress depends on your starting level, practice, and the time you devote to learning.
